lisac957 - 2013-02-21 7:19 PMLooking slim we'll make it now. 14.2 inches of snow is the official total (right now). Everything will ice up overnight, possibly a little more snow. Not going to warm up to help melt off, either. I literally can't make it out of my driveway and even if I did, it's being described as "off roading" out there.

I'll be disappointed if we don't make it, but safety first
Oh no! That's not good. Were you coming in Saturday?

Yeah we were planning on hitting the road Saturday morning.

We'll see!

I can run it for you so you don't DNS...I can see the race official at packet pickup now...

"You're Lisa?" "Yes I am..."

I will make a few calls today and see what I (we) can do to help. There is a "form" that will allow someone to pick up your packet. It might be as easy as PM me your name and bib # and I will pick up and have your packet waiting for you Sunday AM.

I will let you know...

Be careful if you decide to drive. Better to run another day than to never run again...

The "Entry Confirmation" sheets emailed out have a signature line at the bottom allowing someone to pick up your packet.  I wouldn't mind picking it up either.  If you try it, leave early and give yourself plenty of time.  It's 6.5 hours on a good day!

Lisa, please do be careful if you try to make that drive!

Been sick all week and am in the hack up a lung phase now, but the doc cleared me to run last night, so just need to bounce back in time for Sunday.  Picked up packets yesterday (team thing) and saw that the bib says "Carol - 5th time running".  I sure hope it's right!

Driving on snow and ice is not an issue by any means if:

- you have good tires

- have all wheel driv

- a SUV or truck

- go slow and carefull

- avoid driving at night

Just remember that stopping will take a lot of room.

You may want to consider renting a AWD SUV if you don;t have one

Ok Gals and Guys,

I have spoken with the Cowtown staff and anyone who wants can PM me their Name and Bib # and we can have them waiting for you Sunday morning.

This will allow you to drive down Sat during the daylight hours without time constraints.

We have a Pacer meeting prior to the Start so I will be there early.

If you would rather talk to me or use email please feel free to ask when you PM and I will give you my #'s

We decided to give it a-go! Turnpike and highways are clear, it's just the neighborhood streets that are still snow packed.

Thanks to all for the offers - we hope to arrive in town around 3 so we should be able to get our packets.

Tim's correct.  I saw them as well on the VIP table where you pick up the Challenge stuff.  Kind of hard to describe.  I've been looking for pics without any luck.

The 2014 Series will be Spurs; if you can envision the Buckle with the Spur (Medal) at the back. ?Should be prety cool... Kinda like this....

Had a great 3hr Half Pace group with lots of starters unfortunatly lost a few along the way had a few leave and finish ahead of their goal which is AWESOME! Also had a few that decided to not tempt fate and finished just ahead of me.

Clocked in at 2:58:17

Five year star is coimplete looking forward to pacing the next three or five or???

Congrats to all finishers and Star completions!!!

(FYI you can "donate" to CALF Charity in order to complete you Star.)
