buckeyeguy77 - 2013-04-18 5:38 PM Crowie announced he'll be doing Kansas this year.  He's done Racine the past 2 years.  I'm 0-2 against him, I think this is my year to finally beat him!  (sarcastically)

I beat Crowie at Racine in 2010.  Well, technically he finished (several hours) before I did, but he ran across the finish line with his daughter.  Per WTC's own rules, that's an automatic DQ.  I'm assuming that Craig was devastated when the race officials notified him of his disqualification.

Pulled the trigger & finally signed up today before the prices went up! It should be fun, & can't be worse conditions than last year right??

Hoping Crowie will be around to hand me my medal... After he showers, eats, naps, & does a little shopping in KC. That should give me enough time to get across the line!

Crap. I forgot about the price increase. I'm originally from Missouri but moved north for work last year. We're having a long winter for sure still in the 30s in the AM. How's the weather around KC?

Cold! With lots of rain and snow.... means too much time on the trainer and not enough on the roads.

Clinton Lake is sitting at a balmy 51 degrees when I checked yesterday per the Corp of Eng website.

Thankfully, weather looks to be improving finally, so it should warm up plenty by the race.Come race day, I'll bet were wishing for the weather we have right now.

Athlete guide was posted and I saw that we start early at 6:38, which is great. The one thing I didn't see was the order each AG wave will start. Did I miss it?

Great to see their will be an Iron Kids race. My son will probably insist on doing that race.

I didn't see the wave starts posted yet either.  Really wish it was a clockwise swim instead of counter clockwise though.

Rode the course today for the 2nd time. First was a disaster, this was just bad. Preparing for a generally poor race in a month.

Swim waves are up. Look very similar to last year. I was in the final group last year, moved up a few groups this year. Bonus for getting older.

This should be fun, starting 10 minutes after the Pro's, and finishing 2+ hours after them

Anyone from the Lawrence area have any advice on good places to eat and get a beer? Or anything that would be fun to do Friday night?

The discussion starts and ends with Free State Brewery on Mass St. Be prepared to wait as it is very popular.

x2 - it's delicious and will be packed the night before the race. Plan accordingly!

Can anyone recommend a place to eat dinner the night before around the Baymont (Iowa St)? I far as I know, there's no pasta feeds for triathlons like there is for marathons.

Who all is camping? What spot are you in? Is there any interest in a BT meet and greet? I am at spot B21 again this year.

Picked up the tent and inflatable mattress from my brother yesterday, so I am ready to go. We could make our spot at B21 the central point because it is close to the finish line.
