Just a link to the information I have on the event.  I am trying to find out how many people they had last year.  It is a fund raiser for the Trails group in Red Oak and our small YMCA.  I know a few people from the Omaha area have done this before.  I help organize in past years, but I am only getting volunteers to help work it for the trails group.  I will try and answer any questions.  If you don't see something back from me, just PM me to look at the thread.

Hey big guy :D

Just FYI, this is a fun event. It's early, and it's a bit of a drive from Omaha and Lincoln, but it's a really good way to get amp'd for the coming year. I won't be there, but that's only because I have been out of tri training for...oh lord...two years! Kids are a time consumer. (understatement) LOL!!!
Maybe next year

Hey Kurt, how are things for you?  More motorcycles and less swimming and running???  :-)  Yes, kids are very time consuming.  Even when they are married or just living on their own.

Kurt is correct on the event.  It is a small short course event that is very, very, very flat and was done that way on purpose just to get people to see if they want to TRY.  Hope to see some of you there.  I am not sure where I will be working, as I have other events going on that weekend also, so I may just be working a corner on the bike or run course cheering for you or I may be in the pool.

I signed up for it!  I have only done 1 tri (last year's Papillion Mayor's Tri), so this sounded like a good one to start the season and get the competitive juices flowing.  Sounds like it should be an easy, fun event...pretty excited.  Unfortunately, it may be my only Tri of the year, as I am looking at hip surgery after I get married in May...sucks.

I hope you have fun at this event, because that is what it is aimed for.  Getting people to have fun at an easy start.  Enjoy the day and we will hope for better weather than we have had recently.

I hope to be there, although I have zero bike miles so far this year, and make 1500 swim yds lol.

Hopefully it will warm up some.  I hope we have enough volunteers to keep people happy.  If you see a fat man running around in circles, that will be me.

It looks like the rain should be gone by Friday and we should have a sunny day for the event, but you will need to dress appropriately.  Hope to see some of you there.
