Subject: Apple Duathlon
Anyone doing the Apple Du this year? It's a World Championship Qualifer.  That ususally brings out the speedsters.

Thinking about it again. I've done it 6 out of the last 7 years (I think). It's a good one.

Yeah, last year it was NOT a World Qualifier, which is why I was able to place in my AG much better than in the past. It'll be a great fast race again this year!....

I will be there....not sure if I will qualify for Worlds, but I am going to give it one hell of a run at it

Definately a great race....well run, challenging course...which is why it is a regular Worlds Qualifier race


If you haven't done it in the past, you should definately do it

I haven't decided about 2013 yet.  Like Ben said, its a great race and its been "berry berry good to me" (if you are an old Saturday Night Live fan you might remember that saying from the Garrot Morris skits) in WC qualifier years.  The last time I did Apple it was the week after American Triple T (4 races in 3 days) and I was still sore from the previous weekend's races and I could barely lift my leg over the seat to mount my bike at T1....Jerry Macneil even commented on it.   The schedule with Triple T and Apple is the same this year so qualifying again would be a tall order.  Highly recommend the race.

My friend and I are planning on going this year. Last year weather was just BAD. Cold, windy, rain, lighting, thunder, all in one race. But I had my best 5K time Laughing

Last year I got a photo of the finish line inflatable thingy as it blew over and away in front of my wife just as she was coming up to the line. Hadn't seen that happen before.

Wet windy cold stuff.

She has signed me up for it this year.

I'm not a fast biker, just doing it more for fun.

I was wanting to do it, since it's a qualifier, and I'd like to take a stab at it...but there's no way I'll be ready in time, since I'm not even going to be running until end of April at the earliest, I think. Boo. >:|

I just checked out the course video at the bottom of the Apple Duathlon website; wow, does that bring back some memories!  I grew up in Sartell (way back before it was a "booming metropolis"), but I've never done this race; I might have to consider doing it.
