Subject: Anyone done a bike tour in France?

Any suggestions for a 3 or 4 day tour? Just dreaming about rounding out a work trip.

Are you starting off in Paris? I've seen lots of companies that offer bike trips all over France. Some are very technical and are designed for cyclists (my friend did one where she rode all the famous climbs of the TdF--Alpe d'huez, Col du Tourmalet, Mt Ventoux, etc), while others are less strenuous.

I was thinking a mellow base building tour- no big climbs at this time- but some smaller ones would be good.

I did one last year, but I was gone for about 3 weeks. Here's a blog post, I wrote.

Riding in France was exactly what I imagined. So many empty road riding through farmland. We basically covered the east, south and west coast and each of those three areas had a different feel. What are you looking to see?
