Hi, everyone!

I'm not sure this is the place to post this, but I'm doing my first HIM in July '13 and I am looking for a wetsuit.  Any ideas of good places to buy/rent one in MN?  I'd be fine purchasing a used one if you know of anyone looking to sell one.  I am 5'3 and weigh 135 pounds.

Thanks for reading.

A year ago I got one at an end of year sale at Gear West.   I just checked their website and they have some for $150 again this year.  It was my first wet suit so I just went in and told them I wanted one of the sale ones that fit me and that's what they sold me.

If you can know your size , then they turn up on Craigslist all the time also. But I second the thought of if gear west has a closeout in your size the it would be a good deal and be in great condition.

Does anyone know anything about this brand of wetsuits?  On sale in my size at Gear West for $149.  I can also get an Xterra Vortex Fullsuit with the BT discount it would cost $170 with free shipping.

Thoughts?

I have the Xterra Vortex, bought with the good BT discount.   I was really excited about it because it fit SO GREAT, I was stunned.  However, the neoprene hasn't held up as well as my first suit (a QR).  Based on that, and the bit cheaper price, I would probably recommend you get the Profile Design suit at Gear West if you like the fit.

I have the profile design aquaman which I bought on discount at Gear West. The sizing was tricky, but I'm male so it may be a different experience for you. I was horribly uncomfortable in a medium, so ended up with a large which is a little too big. I get some water piggy backing on my back. No chafing issues, though and I definitely swim much faster with it than without. If you go with it, just make very sure the fit is right. Good luck!

I have a womens medium Zoot Fuzion that I am selling for 95.00. I used it in one sprint tri and bought it from a friend's shop where it was in their rental fleet, but never rented. It is a full suit, no rips, blemishes, etc... I am 5'9" and it's too short for me. Worked fine in my race, just looked like I was wearing a Capri wetsuit. Let me know if you're interested...

jheitz11 - I am VERY interested, but I'm worried about the fit.  I am 5'3 and at my racing weight around 130-135 pounds.  Do you think I will fit into a medium?

I do think it would fit...from the specs you'd be right on. My weight is 135/140 and fit is great, just much too short. Which was fine for the early aug. sprint I did, but for early spring most of my shins/calves will be too cold. I'm in St. Paul if you want to take a look....

If you're getting a used wetsuit, make sure it wasn't pee'd in.

I have a small exterra wetsuit that is yours for free if you want it.  Not sure it will fit though??   PM if you are interested.  Or if there is anyone who is interested... first come, first serve.

PS:  There are 2 types of folks, those who pee in their wetsuit and those who lie about it.  This was my wife's wetsuit and she is the 2nd kind.

I wish it would fit...I like wine and chips too much!     Thanks so much for posting though.
