Subject: Tour of Sufferlandria: Question for the Two Workout Days
Is there a way, on TrainerRoad, to have one workout start immediately after another? On the Tour of Sufferlandria days that involve two workouts, it might be nice (or sadistic) to just have the second one begin upon completion of the first.

Maybe I'm just a-skeered that I won't start up again if I get off my bike to make the switch.

Once you have one ride up on your front screen I think you can go back into the main menu and get the second one highlighted but not really selected so it's ready to just be clicked after you're done with #1.  Doing one right after another is definitely going to be tough.  I'm still weighing doing the Tour.

I saw on a FAQ somewhere that you are supposed to do the two-a-days one right after the other to say qualified. So no AM/PM workout thing.
I don't recall a cut off time between workouts though. They'll have to set some standard if TR doesn't support queuing up multiple workouts.

I asked the question on Facebook a few days back. I was told that there is no current way to queue up videos in Trainerroad and the "best" way to deal with it is to simulate a mechanical after the first video is finished and while you're waiting for your team mechanic, start the second video, all in all should only take a few seconds.

I've seen both trainerroad and sufferlandria being thrown around a lot... are they two separate things? I looked up both and saw that trainerroad was a software to measure power. Am I correct in that Sufferlandria just gives you the workouts and trainerroad just shows you how hard you're going or are they paired together?

Sorry to hijack the thread.

Sufferfest offers 12 videos for upload/purchase. They offer great footage of various races and time trials and structure workouts to pair with that footage. You'll get a number of prompts based on perceived effort. And you'll suffer. They're crazy workouts.

TrainerRoad is Virtual Power software. With an ANT and speed/cadence sensor (and heart rate monitor), their software translates the data, along with the power curve associated with your particular trainer, into a virtual power reading. If you take their benchmark test, they'll store your personal FTP (Functional Threshold Power) and cater all of your workouts to match that FTP.

Then ... you just start one of their workouts (enudurance, threshold, VO2, anaerobic, etc.) and you'll have a graph to follow that tracks your specific output. It really allows you to pinpoint your training and track your progress. Hands down, TrainerRoad is the best thing I've done for my riding.

Here's where the two come together ....

TrainerRoad has paired with Sufferfest and now has the metrics for each of their workouts. This means, if you buy the video, you can watch it while tracking the power output rather than just your perceived effort.

When Sufferfest announced the 9 day event where we'll ride each of their 12 videos, The Tour of Sufferlandria, many of us will be participating via TrainerRoad.

Even if you don't participate in the tour, I highly recommend Trainer Road. It had really transformed my winter riding.

Must be done back to back.  It's more fun that way anyway.

it was stated in the FB event page that it must be immediate back to back to count.  apparently they will be reviewing a lot of the logs on TR and not counting it if you set the difficulty too low or soft pedal the whole video.

Is there an interest in starting a new thread here where we can check in each day and report on the Tour? Share our pictures of vomit buckets, etc.?

I like that idea.  I may not be doing the official tour because I'll be away from my house/bike so I'll miss next Tuesday, but I think I'm going to do the rest.
