Subject: Whats your fastest mile time running?

I want to do this thread/poll for motivational purposes for all of us.

I want to know, what is your fastest mile time running?

Mine: I did it a couple of days ago,   and can maintain it for 2-3 miles.  What's yours?

I used to run the mile in junior high and my best was a 5:08, but I haven't run it since. I think I can go faster than that now...i hope I can...I better!

One mile? About 6:25. Puking and heaving and wanting to die follow in short order.

One mile in 6:00 minutes...many many many years ago. If I am hard-pressed, I might manage a mile in 10:00 minutes these days.

Best ever 1 mile time: 6:13 (13:05 for 2 miles) in 1988 during basic training.
Current time to beat (for me): 8:05 during my last 5k.
Best average: 8:53 during my last 5k.
Last year's best: 8:21 (I'm getting better!)

This year, I have more motivation and help from this site, and I feel better prepared mentally everytime I go out to run. I've learned some good techniques that I never knew before. I used to call myself a jogger, but now I consider myself a runner, mainly due to the knowledge that I've gained from so many people here.
