Pro  5169    Burbs |  Subject: beat a 6 year old PR for a 5K !Ran the Penguin Pace 5K this morning -- it's a tough, hilly course. I wasn't expecting to PR and honestly I couldn't remember what my 5K PR even was .. it's been a while I finished this year in 22:59.25/ 7:24 pace! I checked my PRs.... my 5K PR is was 23:07 - set in 2007! Beat it by 7 seconds ! The weight loss, the consistency (1700+ miles last year), and speed work are paying off !
(sadly, I finished 5th in my AG ... I thought I would have finished "3rd" because the top 2 women in my AG were the overall female winners, but the race only did 1 overall man and woman, and then 3 deep in each 10 year AG, so I was officially 4th ..
