So I'm on day 6 of no training.  Day 3 & 4 I couldn't sit up in bed.  Today I made the kids breakfast, but had to sit down after I got lightheaded.  I feel exhausted all the time.  Sorry, folks -- just whining.  Anyone else had the (medically confirmed) flu this year?  How long were you out?  How long did it take you to get back?

Hate to tell you this....but took me a good two weeks before I had most of my energy back, and even though I could run at that point, it knocked me out and I needed a nap. It's been 3 weeks now and I finally feel like my old self again.

Everyone is different.  Listen to your body.  Resume gradually with very light and short workouts.

I picked up the flu xmas day evening and I can tell you I have never been that sick in my entire life.  I was out a good 2 weeks before I could workout and not feel like I was dragging @ss!  I did try and workout about a week afterward and was completely exhausted, especially with running.  I was worried about losing fitness but after finally getting over being sick I was able to pick up relatively were I left off.  I hope are on the downhill slide!!!

Total time about a week, not sure I am 100% yet though.  I had aches, fever, dizziness, etc.  I received the flu mist instead of a shot.  This was the first time I have had the flu in over 12 years.

I've had three different coworkers who were down for 7 - 10 days with this thing that's been going around.  It hasn't been a good flu season.

I'm just heading to the gym now :-) I hope everything goes well.
