I searched the forums for an answer on this and plan on calling Garmin on Monday, but in the mean time can anyone help me out?

Recently, I started getting erratic HR readings during workouts.  The HR would climb into the 200s then back down to where I was really at.  Is my HR strap starting to fail? Low battery in the transmitter maybe?  It's about a year old and I've never washed it in the machine, only in the sink.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

What do you use between the electrodes and your skin?

I've never had any issues with my old school Garmin strap, but DC Rainmaker has a pretty good how-to guide:

Haven't used anything from the beginning and never had a problem before my last two workouts.

I had the exact same thing happen with my Polar HRM. Changing the battery on the HRM fixed it.

Some of us find that HR is less reliable in winter....probably a "contacts" issue since you tend to sweat less in the cold.

But if that doesn't seem like the answer then try changing the battery. :D

It was the battery.  Happy HR now

I did find out that the Garmin Training Center program for Mac is no longer supported, so if there's issues like HR data not being xferred, that's why.

Whaaaaaaaaaat????  So are they not going to have any future updates for GTC on Mac?  I hate Garmin connect and do all my dealings with GTC....

That's what the support guy said.  I told him I was pretty unhappy about that considering what GTC has to offer that Garmin Connect lacks.
