Run
Comments: Actually the hills were small and rolling. I really could never tell if I was running up a hill but I noticed when I was running down the hill. This was great because it seemed as though I was always running downhill... Well I ran the course with my friend Susan. We started out wanting to pace at 10:15 minute miles. Either one of us had many miles built up this year and we were doing this as a training run. We were actually doing 10mm until mile 6.5 when I took off. My stomach was a bit upset but started to settle. At mile 12.5 when the Finish line came into site, Susan pulled up to the right of me. I know she was close because there were two turn arounds and I never saw her on the other side. Well I started to sprint hard and pump my arms. We raced to the finish. This is a great race and I recommend it to anyone. Bands were great the spectators were fantastic. One of the most enjoyable 1/2s I have ever done. What would you do differently?: Nothing. This was a great race to get me back into the season. Time to bring my 220 pounds back down under 190. Post race
Warm down: Hung out with Herm and Susan. Had a memousa not sure but it is champaign and orange juice. Also a muffin. Then went back to Moms and had a Mexican dinner. What limited your ability to perform faster: I am too fat to run fast right now. Event comments: It was a great race. I will do it next year. Last updated: 2013-02-13 12:00 AM

Tied the race into a visit with Mom in Duneden. Up a 03:00 16oz accelerade and a bagel with peanut butter. Drank about 32 more ounces of water at the race site. Had a cup of coffee when I got up. Took a 5 hr energy and a gel with caffine 1/2 hr before the race..
Lots of stretching. I have never seen so many porta potties. Never more than a 5 minute wait even just before the race.
