Not even 1/4 of a mile actual distance.

Two waves, Men and teams first.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Transition was not timed. Transition emptied on to SOFT gravel for about 100 yds. Lost my shoes from the pedals trying to get my bike moving. Sat dowm to put on my shoes and got passed by several riders. Heaven only knows how much time I lost.
What would you do differently?:

Put on shoes prior to exiting transition.

Comments:

Time included T1, T2 and my #$&@ing shoe problem. Actual pace was over 23.2 assuming I had 30 second transitions. Actual pace was over 23.6 if I had 45 second transitions.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing

  • 00m
Run
  • 27m 46s
  • 3.8 miles

Comments:

Post race
Warm down:

Got into the lake to cool off.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Crappy transition. Running performance

Event comments:

This was the most poorly organized tri that I have competed in. Bouys were out just before race time and the course length wasn't even close to the actual distance. The transition area was not ready until at least 45 minutes after advertised opening. The gravel exit from the transition was poorly conceived. Awards were advertized as going to the top three racers in each age group, but only given to the top two.

I had a great race, sans the shoe mishap, but will probably skip this race in the future unless things change significantly.
