Pre-race routine:

Just a normal day...Race was just for fun. Ran some errands, ate some waffles and had a Starbuck's Refresher. Was running a little bit late, but made it to the starting line with about 10 minutes to spare.

Comments:

So the concept of this race is that they send off a bunch of hot running chicks and then, 3 minutes later, let a bunch of "hunters" go get their prey...Pretty cool concept!! Single people wear hot pink stickers to let everyone know they're available and at the finish line there is a beer garden where everyone can mingle and get to know each other.

I, of course, went with my fiancee...So my goal was to catch up with her and finish the race by her side. I didn't even bring my watch; I wasn't concerned about pace. It was, "go out as hard as you can for 3.1 miles until you catch this girl!". I was having a good run despite fighting a bad case of plantar fasciitis and was confident that I would catch her. About 100 yards to the turn around point I saw her coming back towards me...That was a good thing as I was starting to get tired. I caught her a little later, said hello with a light slap on the butt and I was officially in cool down mode.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing...

Warm down:

Had some delicious food at Cornish Pasty and a good brew...

Event comments:

I've never done a stand alone 5k, but now I'm curious...I think I could have done really well in my age group and maybe even cracked the 20 minute mark. Maybe one day...

Fun concept Smile

If no one flirts with the "available" girls, I wonder if it's bad high school dance all over again?

You need to run some standalone 5ks, they are a blast!  Last year I said I would make Skirt Chaser this year, that didn't happen.
