1km light jog to loosen legs. Start delayed slightly so possibly could have been longer for future

happy with first run - possibly slightly faster than I planned but felt comfortable

struggled to get clipped in for some reason
put shoes on in transition and ran to mount line

use runner for the whole race to cut time in transition

pushed hard throughout, drafted well where possible. Lost time on hills. As usual the bike is my weakest leg by quite a bit

More speed work if I was concentrating on these shorter events

no change of shoes, use different lock lace system

took slightly longer to get comfortable in run but felt stronger as the race wnet on - didn't get passed at all on run and made up a lot of places

lack of speed training

Event comments:

good race, slight delay in registration and at start line but nothing to worry about. Great course - fast in some sections, challenging in others.
Good after race refreshments - tea, coffee, soup and sandwiches
