Run
Comments: The run went fine. I was just trying to make it through without hurting myself. Hadn't run longer than 15 miles since mid Oct. I went out with an idea of just running an easy ~8min pace. First loop went fine, hit the half way point just at 1:45. Turning back into the wind on the second loop hurt. I caught up with another 50 stater and we ended up running the entire second half together, which REALLY helped. We ran the whole way out, then walked the long uphill sections on the way back in. My knee never caused me any problems, felt well all night What would you do differently?: nothing. I had no real goal other than to live through this, which I did. Cross Maryland off the list. Post race
Warm down: walked over to the festivities, a quick bowl of chili and a cookie, showered and drove to teh airport What limited your ability to perform faster: hills and WIND Event comments: It was the 50th running of this race, so they know what they are doing. The coiurse is prety bland, and the 30deg temps with 30mph gusts and occasional snow made it tough. Aid stations and finish area were well stocked. nice shirt, medal. Great, smaller race Last updated: 2012-12-12 12:00 AM
