I'd love to participate more in this thread, but I'm late to a team building exercise designed to motivate our front line employees to cross sell our financial products so that we can achieve our growth focused goals all without losing sight of our core principles.

Kido - 2013-02-21 4:20 PM We need to circle back and this time be proactive and think outside the box.

Why don't you create an action plan for that.

I'd love to, but I just don't have the bandwidth to tackle that right now.  Could you draw up a straw man (misused daily around here) for us to look at and schedule some time for us to review?

There are tons of these online - funny

OMG!  I'm going to have to print some of these off for out quarterly staff meeting next week

Be careful, some folks have found that yelling out "Bingo" after 15 minutes of a staff meeting is frowned upon. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go create efficiencies with our cross departmental eforts.

I'm glad to see that we're all on the same page but try to leverage the work of other teams and let's not reinvent the wheel.

I think we should dialog offline to identify alternate platforms and pin them to action items.

We must apply a governance structure around this process, so we can ring-fence the outliers in order to achieve value.  Please create a short (20-50 page) deck outlining your core thoughts and key stakeholders so we can develop solid action plans.  If we don't move quickly on the low hanging fruit, we'll likely receive a task on certain items.  And if we miss our targets, we'll all be placed on a non-punitive improvement plan, which ultimately could result in our exiting the business.

BINGO!

Our all hands meeting with a hidden agenda was apples and oranges compared to previous meetings where we tried to raise the bar and get consumer buy-in of our products. At the end of the day it was a dog and pony show with little substance. People were not willing to go the extra mile to get our outcomes on the fast track to completion, requiring hand holding instead of heavy lifting. Some staff were on the radar and will need to regroup to get up to speed so they can bring more to the table. I will touch bases with these individuals in order to avoid a train wreck.

"Touch base" is like fingernails on a chalkboard for me. "Circle back" is a close second.

Am I dated, or do you need some solutions architects to help you attain synergy?

Heard one on the news last night during some panel that was meeting to figure out how to deal with Harrisburg's sinkhole issues: "We have plenty of boots on the ground...[I tuned the rest out]" Kinda funny now that I write it; boots on the ground but the ground is giving way to sinkholes all over the city, LOL!

^^I love that one.  My bosses boss always wants us to come up with "creative" solutions to some very complex problems/issues.  She probably uses that word 100 times a day.  Not necessarily a buzzword, but still extremely annoying.  That felt good to get off my chest.  Thanks!
