Age Group Rank = 10/24
Pre-race routine:

Got up ate bagel and PB and OJ.....Had a cup of coffee.
On the way there, I drank some Water and some gatorade. Took two endurolytes before race and a shot of gel.
Event warmup:

Ran for about 10 minutes. Felt good and fast. Bike for about 8-10 minutes, flet good too. Soms spinning and some big gear work to get it all together. Swam for about ten minutes too. di some back stroke, breast and free against the current and with. Felt liek I was going to own the Swim.

Swim
  • 13m 11s
  • 880 yards
  • 01m 30s / 100 yards
Comments:

I felt great on this swim. I did not feel like I overexerted or anything. In all actuallity, I just settled in right away, let everybody who was ahead of me do their thing, and I either passed them or held my own.
What would you do differently?:

Not a thing
Transition 1
  • 03m 20s
Comments:

That run in the sand to the transition sucked. That is frickin awful. It was liek a quarter mile to T1! It added like 90 seconds to my T1 time. Totally blew.
What would you do differently?:

Take a bus.
Bike
  • 43m 45s
  • 16 miles
  • 21.94 mile/hr
Comments:

Went at a pretty good clip here. I was unfamiliar with the course, but got through it fairly decently. I wasn't passed too much, and passed a couple on the first lap too.

What would you do differently?:

Maybe gone about 1 MPH faster. I had it in me.
Transition 2
  • 01m 20s
Comments:

Better transition than at Warsaw. In, out and on the run....

Run
  • 25m 37s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 16s  min/mile
Comments:

It sucked really bad. My cardio was completely screwed up, due to two weeks of inconsistent training and working so damn much. I was over a minute off my race pace. Should have been at least 3 minutes faster.
What would you do differently?:

I need to train more, and get back into running a bit more. The bike is an important goal for me, but I nee dthe run to finish better. It all comes down to the run.

Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, drank gatorade, etc. It statred to rain so I packed up and left.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My inconsistency in training the last two weeks. It has been so difficult to train consistently since I got bakc fro The White Lake Half IM.

Event comments:

The guy who announced this, Tom Ziebart, was a total dick.
