Subject: Iphone apps

I'm finally getting around to adding some apps on my iphone.  I can't seem to find the thread that was posted a few months ago in which everyone listed their favorites.  Specifically, I'm looking for a tool that helps me track my workouts before and after they're completed with a place to add how well the workout went and how I felt.

Any suggestions for apps or a link to that other thread is appreciated!

BT has an app if you want to go that route...or you can just bookmark the site and it will direct you to the mobile site (which is almost like an app).  Training Peaks also has one, I think.

There's a BT app?  Huh.  I can't believe I didn't check that one, as our home has so many apple products it looks like a blinkin' orchard!

Will have to get it and see...

Thanks!

Not exactly what you're looking for, but it's free today (normally 4.99)

if you train with your phone on you,  then get strava. logs your stuff automatically and then lets you "compete" with others who have done segments of your route. can get kinda addictive.

The MAP MY RUN and MAP MY RIDE apps are pretty good. Turns your phone into a GPS Map, get pace and split feed back real time, distance elevation data and can save routes, track PRs, and even share with friends and track them real time. There are free versions of both which have most the bell and whistles.

Thanks for the tips so far guys but let me clarify: I don't use my phone to train.  I'm looking more for an app that would show a calendar view of workouts planned and completed.  For the completed, it would allow me to input notes as to how it went.  I can manually enter distance and speed.

I don't just s/b/r so it would be something that caters to all types of fitness.  Something like BT makes logging non s/b/r workouts a bit more complicated than it needs to be.  This is what has been deterring me from logging on this site instead of using my archaic pen and paper.  I figured some type of app might be convenient enough to prompt me to log in a more methodical manner.

I just tried the Training Peaks app which is free.....but you have to have a paid Training Peaks account in order use it and I don't.

X2 on Strava, my friend in CA showed it to me about 3 weeks ago, very cool! You can type notes for each workout. The app is free. It was very humbling to see other people's bike times in my neck of the woods. Must be some Cat 1 riders around here, or more likely I'm just slow.....The other cool thing that it does is break out segments of your runs. I did an 8.4 mile run Sunday and it broke out my best 400m, mile, 5k and 10k during that run.

I have to admit some curiosity about what you don't like about using the BT logs.  I log s/b/r here, but also other stuff (yoga, other gym classes, etc).  It seems pretty smooth...  But, if you have any suggestions I recommend you send them to Ron so he can consider making changes in the future releases.  I think the logs are the absolute best thing about BT.

I also use TrainingPeaks because my coach sends me my workouts this way, you're not missing anything.   Annoyingly, it won't go landscape. I use it on my iPad, so a much bigger screen, and doesn't resize appropriately so things are cutoff, I have to scroll, etc.  It's just usable enough that I can input my time, notes, etc, but I definitely wouldn't pay for it..

I recently integrated my TrainingPeaks Calendar with iCal. Now when my coach updates my schedule, it automatically updates directly to iCal on my iPhone and iPad.

No need to go directly to the TrainingPeaks site except to add notes  after I upload my garmin data.

Sync TrainingPeaks calendar

Yeah, I know what you mean, especially with respect to entering S/T data.  You also can't enter HR data for anything that's not SBR, and you can't track separate sports (they all get lumped together).

That said, the mobile site is easier. to navigate..I actually enter my sets/reps/weights during my recovery periods at the gym (when I remember to bring the phone with me Foot in mouth).  It sorts everything alphabetically (instead of the order I want to do the sets) but if I can't remember what order to do stuff I guess I'm pushing too hard.

iTriage

This is not what the OP wanted, but IMO, if you or your family live / breath/ get hurt or sick, this app may be helpful to you.

Hope this helps
