Subject: TOTW: What do you do for a living?

I know there was a thread on the Triathlon talk on what do you do for a living, however I thought it might be fun to bring it up here in our own state since we are more likely to know each other.

 

I work for Allied Solutions a company based in IN, were we market products and services to financial institutions across the US.  I just work with the credit unions in SC.  Because I do travel a lot I get to make my own schedule which also helps with trying to fit in my training.

I work for CH2M Hill in Spartanburg and engineering firm based out of Denver, CO.  Spent 7 months in Portland, OR for work last year but now travelling is done for a while so I can focus on my training and races.

Hey All,

I'm a mechanical engineer at the nuclear power plant in middle of the state.  Try to ride to work every now and then as a way to get some miles in on the bike.

This winter I've focused on my worst event, the swim.

mechanical engineer, working at an aerospace design firm in greenville.  really flexible schedule for training, except when they want to send me to such wonderful places like wichita ks in the winter for a month or two.

I read somewhere that triathlon seems to draw a lot of engineers, and it seems true in this case!

I guess I am a quite a bit different.  I am the Head Golf Professional at a private country club in Simpsonville.  My work schedule definitely makes training with a group much more difficult considering most long workouts are done on the weekends.  Also, most people associate a golf pro as a fat, beer drinker.  It's fun to see people's reaction when I tell them what I did on my days off.

Seems you are right...there are a couple triathletes who I work with as well...all of us have engineering degrees...

I work for Customs and Border Protection at the port of Charleston, mostly dealing with imports. Its a 9-5 grind where I sit in front of a computer all day, so i get plenty of time to train. By the time im out of here in the afternoon, a two hour training ride or run sounds great compared to siting on my butt all day.

I'm a agribusiness lender. I travel about 30% of the month so pool consistency is tough for me. But being a noob at tri training I do ok.

What do you do for CH?  I worked in the Spartanburg office before going to law school.  Great company to work for!
