Total Time = 1h 29m 20s
Overall Rank = 285/
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 30/41
Pre-race routine:

Woke up at my hotel in Indio, ate a Clif bar and took a nice warm shower.
Event warmup:

Well this is the funny part. I had my Zoot fuzion sleeveless wetsuit and got into the water. I found out the hard way that the water temp was around 59. I ran over to wife wife which was at the transition area, got the car keys, ran to the car and put my full suit one, ran back to my wife to get her the keys, then back to the start point. Not a good start to the day.
Swim
  • 11m 8s
  • 547 yards
  • 02m 02s / 100 yards
Comments:

This was by far my best swim yet. I took almost 5 minutes off of my last swim in December.
What would you do differently?:

I am playing around with the idea of just using the De Soto 2 piece wetsuit. I feel that I can swim much better without a top and will try and use the bottoms.
Transition 1
  • 02m 9s
Comments:

I got flustered during the transition. My wetsuit got really stuck and had to sit down to pull the legs off.
What would you do differently?:

Use body lube to help with taking the wetsuit off.
Bike
  • 47m 55s
  • 14 miles
  • 17.53 mile/hr
Comments:

I babied the bike, plain and simple. Its a brand new bike so I was really careful with it.
What would you do differently?:

Not baby the bike.
Transition 2
  • 03m 21s
Comments:

Not too sure what I would do differently except throw the other guys bike on the ground. He literally threw his bike on top of all of my stuff I had laid out including the ladies stuff next to me. She was pretty upset!
What would you do differently?:

Forget the socks for sprint
Run
  • 24m 27s
  • 3 miles
  • 08m 09s  min/mile
Comments:

Good run and I had taken 3 mins off of my normal 3 mile run. My chest was super tight and I could not get a second wind. I think my issues are with my clothing.
What would you do differently?:

I am going to run either shirtless or with a loose fitting shirt during the next sprint at Coronado.
Post race
Warm down:

Fruit, gatorade, water and hug from my kids.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training. My work schedule has limited me quite a bit from training the way I need to. I put out harder than normal this time with the swim and the run but held back on the bike.

Event comments:

This was a good race and the lake Cahuilla venue is awesome, I love it out there in the desert. Its a nice break from the cool coastal temps in San Diego. I would like to see a beer tent and maybe a kids activities area with bouncy houses for the stressed out moms waiting on their husbands or vice versa.
