Drink water and gatorade , eat breakfast at 7 am , Try to relax , the walk helped.
Race time is 9am
Event warmup:

Walk 2 miles to race site at brisk pace. Stretch , It's 85F and sunny so stay in shade as much as possible until start time.

Comments:

Fastest 5k ever for me : Ran a PR in the 5K .
A bit of slow traffic to overtake in the first three quarter mile.
What would you do differently?:

Start in the first quarter or third of the group , not near the back.

Warm down:

Walk 1.5 miles , swim 20 mins ,

What limited your ability to perform faster:

It was Hot! 85F -90F , more conditioning , lose weight

Event comments:

Very nice race , lots of runners 600 of every ability.
Race should start earlier like at 8am
