Another vote for Rev3 Cedar Point.

I live in the Baltimore area, so my search had most of the same variables as yours did. I have heard very good things about the race and the timing (Early Sept.) was perfect so that I can build up on Sprints and Olympics throughout the summer and finish up with a HIM.

Think I'm going to do Augusta, especially since flights to the area on Jet Blue are dirt cheap right now.  Can anyone comment on the city itself as I've heard it's not very desirable?  Probably just spend some extra time and go visit friends in Charleston or Savannah.

It's a great race, but not for the faint of heart!  (there is always the option of the 30.0, which is a much easier)

Pumpkinman in South Berwick Maine. Great little race in a super scenic area.

Another rev3 cedar point vote here. I did the full and loved it. If you have a family we stayed at great wolf and they had a blast. The swim was good. Lake erie is a little more murkey than michigan but still good and most of it is protected by a breakwall. The bike is long straight flat country roads with only 2 hills worth noting. There was a great town square you go through where everyone has cowbells and waving signs. Run is very flat large crowds and great workers. There is a number of out and back 2 mile loops where spectators can see you 4 times and only walk a block each time.

B2B was my first. I am partial because it's local for me but it's great. The swim can be super fast with the current. Flat bike and great run with lots of support. I am still thinking about doing it again this year. Did the relay 2 years ago and don't want to be on the sidelines on race day.

If you do the Williamsburg Half, we can be HIM newbies together!

Half Full Tri Oct 6 in Columbia, MD. Great race! Parts of the Columbia Triathlon earlier in the year. Plus ALL proceeds go to the Ulman Cancer Fund. http://andyrosebrook.blogspot.com/2012/10/half-full-tri-race-report...

Rev 3 South Carolina October 13 in Anderson, SC. Cool course nice wetsuit legal swim and home of the USAT Half Max championship this year. http://andyrosebrook.blogspot.com/2011/10/rev-3-south-carolina-race...

Two great races, hilly bikes but nothing monsterous and great events!

jcnipper - 2013-03-07 11:37 AM Give the half-full tri in Columbia a look.  Registration is currently only 70 bucks, not counting any charity donations.  It has some hills, but won't be too bad.

Yup, this is my suggestion as well.  Beautiful course, great cause, well-run.  I'll be doing the Olympic distance race again this year for Team Fight.

OK, I think I'm decided on Beach to Battleship this year. But Augusta, Cedar Point and the Half Full are definitely on the list for the future.

You will be very happy with B2B...it was an awesome race...the bike course was not that bad at all.  I loved how they shut down lanes of highways for the bike course...

I'm narrowing myself.  pretty much same specs.  here's my top 3

B2B, Augusta, Williamsburg.  Based on other outside scheduling and the great rep I'm probably doing B2B
