Run
Comments: I had a pretty good run given my past month of training. Felt good right from the start. I think the dynamic stretches (Myrtl routine) really helped get me warmed up and ready to go. 1st 1/2 of the race was great. Kept heart rate in check. 2nd half of race was more of a struggle as I got tired and couldn't keep up my early pace. My new mantra "I am BEAST!" helped quite a bit for most of the last half but I lost focus during the last .5 mile or so. But still a fun race and good performance overall. What would you do differently?: Not slack off the running the month prior to a race! Lose the few pounds gained over the holidays. They are still hanging on. Post race
Warm down: Hanging around. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training. Event comments: EX2 races are always fun and well run. Last updated: 2013-03-10 12:00 AM

Did a bit of dynamic stretching that seemed to help quite a bit for the beginning of the race.
