Finished my first HIM 6:50, miscalculated my times and thought I missed my 7hr goal so I shut it down on the run too early. Next time I won't make that mistake.

I went from couch to marathon over the past two years. Both marathons were when I was between 225-230 lbs, and they are the only two races i've ever done.

2011: 5:52:34

2012: 5:40:06

I'm at 214 today and hope to get around a 5:15 this year. Haven't completed my first triathlon yet, but signed up for a few and likely to register for a HIM (Steelhead) later this year with the goal being to finish.

Weighing 230 right now but my half PR I was weighing 215 and its a 1:42.  Only ran a few fulls and hit 4:07 on my 2nd one a few years ago. I am running a sprint tri next week and hoping to run a HIM by years end. Also shooting to get back to 210ish after a recent knee scope.  KEEP RUNNING!!!

I weigh 247 (6'3") and I did my first Marathon in Jan 13 (5h 40ish min?) and first HIM in March 13. (8:05)
I was severely undertrained because of work.

I met me goal in both.... meaning I beat at least one person... the guy picking up the cones closing the course down.

Ran my second full marathon Sunday at 243 lbs, 4:59:41 (net) with a crazy attempt at a sprint down the muddy finish chute to break 5 hours. Also broke my previous best at a half marathon during the second half of the race with a 2:25:58.

5'11'-ish. I started at 310lbs but currently run 245lbs. Here's my last times:

Half-marathon: 2:11
Full-marathon: 4:52
Tough Mudder (11 miles): 5 hours (roughly)
Olympic Tri (first one): 3:23

My first half-Ironman is Sunday. I'm shooting for 1:00 swim, 3:25 bike, 3:00 run, for an overall of 7:30.

Back running this year and have been combining weight-loss with running events.

First mini-tri in August.

I have used this to help me work put how my times will transfer:

http://www.mcmillanrunning.com/index.php/calcUsage/calculate

March 2013 5k: 285 lbs 27:31
June 2013 10k: 261 lbs 54:37

I would love to break 2hours for the half -marathon (Signed up for Niagara Falls Internation Half on Oct 27th) but the calulator above seems to think that I will just miss out! My recent training runs also seem to indicate i will miss out!! :-)

Will let you know how I do.

I'm 220.

My half mary time this year was 1:53, half ironman was 5:53 (2:02 run) and my last Ironman was 12.30 - next one in three weeks.

I really don't like the clyde category to be honest and i'm glad we don't have it in Europe but I appreciate that's a whole other thread.

Niagara is a flat to downhill course - you never know, you could get it.

Not sure why I'm answering.  Different courses and conditions and training levels make a big impact.  All clydes are not equal either.

I generally compete around 235.

My best HM was 1:50ish

My best Mary was 4:20, but that was one month after an IM and I didn't train at all between the two.

Best HIM?  Something like 6

Best IM just over 12:00

I'll start with mine...

Marathon 10/12 (my first) - 300 lbs     5:42:38

Half Marathon 3/13 (not an actual race, but tired to run it like one) - 272 lbs    2:27:24

HIM (haven't done one, signed up for Timberman 70.3 8/13)

IM (haven't done one, IMLP '14 hopefully)

Did my first HIM last weekend...

Timberman 70.3 - 06:19:53 @ 235 lbs.

I was hoping to be down to 220 by race day but didn't make it.

I don't know if this is "fast" or not.  I seem to do well in these parts.  Since I started doing tri:

  • Half Mary 1:54
  • Mary 4:23
  • Oly 2:45
  • HIM 6:26
  • IM 12:36

Most of my races are on hilly courses, hence the slower times.  IM was IMAZ, so traveled to a flat/fast course for that.

The Open Marathon was a month after an HIM.  I thought I was prepared for it since I did the HIM, but I was wrong.

Finished this weekend with a 1:51:34 for my half marathon. Way better than target and probably a PR that will stand for some time.

A bueatiul cool day at Niagara Falls and everything came together well.

I was 244 lbs on race day.

Second half was Disney and packed with people, finished in 2:32 @ 265

I'm doing Miami Man International this weekend and will be at 270.... ( shoulder surgeries helping my weight gain)
hoping to finish around 2:05 - 2:10
