Elite  4547   |  Subject: Add memory to hard drive or go with external hard drive?WWCOJ do? I think we're close to tapping out our 2gb? limit...so, while trying to get home movies burned, they don't burn properly. I think it's because we're so close to the available memory on the hard drive. Mac mini if that info. helps. Just curious. |

| Subject: RE: Add memory to hard drive or go with external hard drive? Get a 2 or 3 terabyte drive either USB3 or Firewire. Use that as your data drive and move all your movies to that drive. Use your internal drive as primarily a boot drive and a working drive. After you've finished altering the movie, move it to the storage drive. Better yet, get two and have one back up to the other one every night. Data backup and all that. No matter what OS, it does better if there's empty space on the boot drive. |

I bought a router/modem combo with a USB slot in it. I have access to all my data from every device on my network that way. There are apps which give you data on iOS devices as well. Works great for me. |
