Swim
Comments: Swim was pretty smooth. Felt good given the limited pool time this year. Happy to finish top 10% overall on swim. Long run (300 yardsish) from the pool to the transition included in the swim time. Had problems with watch, no clue what I did but I did not start it properly, so that was messed up from step 1/ What would you do differently?: Swim a bit more, but overall a good swim. Make sure I started my watch properly. Transition 1
Comments: Frickin freezing coming out of the hot pool into 50 degree and raining weather, so my feet were numb. Struggled getting helmet on really bad and my glasses were totally fogged, so I tossed them. Also decided not to wear arm warmers due to time, that was a good call. What would you do differently?: Focus on getting the helmet on. Straps were all wonky... dumb dumb mistake. Bike
Comments: Not thrilled with the bike. Top 10 overall, but I need to be smoother. Totally struggled getting my feet into wet freezy shoes, and my garmin on multi sport was totally not set-up properly. Therefore, I spent a good half mile screwing with the garmin getting it into bike mode to at least be able to know speed. Luckily I paid attention to the course map or I would have not known how far I had left to go. What would you do differently?: Fix garmin, work more hills, work, work, work!!!! Transition 2
Comments: Really good job coming off the bike, racking, helmet off. Struggled to get into the wet cold shoes abit, but that only cost a few seconds. The garmin was of course screwed up still. What would you do differently?: Not much, this was a good T2 Run
Comments: Great run. Was carrying Garmin in my hand for a while and was screwing with it to get it into run mode. When I finally got it in run, I just used it to watch pace. I was clicking right around 7-7:15 pace, which is out of my frickin' mind!!! Again, knew the course from the map and last year and knew where I was relative to the finish, therefore not knowing how far I was in did not matter. What would you do differently?: Nothing, best tri run ever!!! Post race
Warm down: Walked around. What limited your ability to perform faster: About 7-10 more pounds to lose. Event comments: Good race, great bike course. Love how early it is in the year. They REALLY need to get the run course closer to the correct length, and the awards were a bit cruddy. Best ADPiathlon yet. Last updated: 2013-01-15 12:00 AM
