I don't believe the GPS function is intended to be used in a pool even if outdoors.  When you select swim, choose pool swim instead of Open Water Swim.  Then choose the length of the pool.  Mine works pretty well using it in a pool swim mode.

i dont use the GPS when in the pool just make sure u hit lap when dont with the interval

x2 Just use the lap pool mode. Mine ended up off a couple of times by 25 yards, otherwise it works fine.

You are correct, GPS isn't intended for pool use. I had an opportunity to use 3 lanes and swim in circles to mimic open water. I thought that the open water setting would work despite the "bubble" over the pool. I was wrong...
