Subject: koobi tri saddle

folks...anyone riding the Koobi tri saddle ? what's your review ?

I do like my Adamo, but I have a problem on long distances with thin tri shorts...due to the width of the "fork" ..the inside edge of the fork chafes one side of the spot where the leg meets the junk. definitely annoying (and painful) with longer races.

I've done the zip tie thing, and am thinking it's not working out.

seems to be fine with thicker bike shorts, but the thin tri shorts during races is where is causes problems.

Koobi being narrower on the fork spread might do the trick.

The Koobi is pretty wide in the back.  Not sure if you mind width in the back.  The nose is definitely narrow.  The back is pretty squishy too. 

If you like the Adamo saddle other than the width of the nose, Cobb is coming out with a similar saddle that is narrower in the nose to mid area.  I think they had an ad in the latest Triathlete magazine with a picture of it.  Cobb also has a Gen 2 saddle that is narrower in the nose.

Obviously these things are very individual, but I run an Adamo on my road bike with the zip tie. It works well (but not without the zip tie).

Just the slight pelvic rotation with my tri bike, though, and the Adamo is terrible. The Koobi has been perfect; the bike fit as well as the saddle itself are so comfortable that I can literally ride naked, or do very long trainer rides in Speedos.

I also can't say enough good things about the personal customer service at Koobi. Particularly a guy named Phil.

Oh yeah ... they recommend changing your saddle after 500-600 hours. I found out the hard way that this is very important, perhaps especially in a salty tropical climate ... like yours.
