Subject: I think Clydesdale days are behind me....for good. Well folks when I started this crazy journey in January of 2012 tipping the scales at 260.0 my original goal was to do some triathlons and hopefully shed 40 pounds to get to 220. I thought I would be a Clyde forever, especially considering at the time the cutoff was 200 lbs. Flash forward to April and I am suddenly at 219, and I'm finding out that they are raising the Clyde limit to 220. The weight has come off so quickly I decide to ride it out and just see how far this thing will go. Got down to the 200 - 205 range and flat out hit a wall. I would dip down below 200 for a day or so, but ultimately get back to 205. Suddenly 200 became my new number. I had to get below that. I fought hard for about 4 months now. Adopted dietary changes, rededicated myself to dietary discipline, and of course increased training volume as the season approaches. This morning I weight 197.8 which is the lowest I have been in 19 years. I feel great and look decent. And now the Clydesdale division is behind me whether under the old school or new school definition. Thanks for all the support from those on this site and my friends and family. It can be done, if that is your goal, all it takes is a little focus. |
