Sunny
Total Time = 1h 02m 11s
Overall Rank = 3283/4561
Age Group = 40-49
Age Group Rank = 565/705
Pre-race routine:

embarassing lack of routine. Woke up late after a bad nights sleep and failed to eat or hydrate properly
Event warmup:

4k walk to get wife and daughter to finish line then back to start for myself
Run
  • 1h 02m 11s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 10m 01s  min/mile
Comments:

Needed to drink more prior to the start. By 3k I was struggling and every kilometer felt like 2. Could not get into rythm or breathing until 7k when i settled enough to make a final push in the last 500m.
What would you do differently?:

better prep and the weather here in the UK has been unseasonally poor for the whole winter and spring, meaning my training has been rubbish.
Post race
Warm down:

walk and massage

What limited your ability to perform faster:

poor nutrition, hydration and training

Event comments:

will be back next year to improve

Froggy, it'll be interesting to see what you can do with proper training, hydration, and nutrition. It is good to see you are still at it.

Considering your improper training, hydration and nutrition you should be happy with this result. Imagine what you can do when your training isn't rubbish!

Is this a PR for you?  Think what you could do with actual training! Wink

This is a great result given the dehydration, nutrition, and training problems.  You'll be unstoppable once you get those worked out!

We learn much more from our mistakes than from a successful race.  Look how much you learned here - next race you will be totally prepared for and kick some frog butt!!

Looks like a fun race. Good on toughing it out to the end. Good luck with the next stage of the training.

HAHAHAH!

Hot damn, Froggy. I thought you were going to spill all the gory details

1-hour is pretty froggin' fast, especially for the  ... err ... unusual methods of preparation.

He's baaaaaack!
