What effects does this have on your bike and run if you do not take anything? If you are blotted does it effect you and if it does, how?

eventually you will have stomach pains if you don't get that air out via fart or burp . On a side note.. me and my cousin use to do this as kids suck in as much air as possible untill it hurt so bad and then gas the rest of the night. Good times good times lol

How far are you talking about?  If you are talking about long distances and feeling bloated, I would still force the calories down.

Be sure to exhale almost all the air while your face is in the water. That way you have more time inhaling.

If you do not get the air out on ironman, other than stomach blotting could it cause any other problems? I force calories down and drink plenty.

I too am a little concerned about the bloating issue, if you read back on one of my threads I created a couple of weeks ago, I have found that since I started doing some speed sets in the pool I have been taking in less air to my stomach, also I had a bad habit of swallowing mid stroke if I got a little water back which I seem to be getting better at.
I'm sure when I get on the bike I will be gassing out the people behind me.

Do you think that this would cause cramping on the bike and not being able to push harder than in training?
