My father suffered an injury to his knee a couple years ago and is no longer able to use his size 58cm Felt S32 Triathlon Bicycle. This bicycle retails for $1449 new and was sold to my father by Gear West Bike & Triathlon (http://gearwestbike.com/) of Long Lake, MN in 2010. It would be a great fit for someone who is getting into triathlons and needs a high performance triathlon bicycle for an affordable price. It is in good condition but needs about $200 worth of work to get it into peak performance condition. I am looking for $900 but would be willing to negotiate. I took it in to The Hub Bicycle Co-Op on Minnehaha Ave. in Minneapolis, MN (where they were extremely helpful) and they looked at the bike and said it needs the following work to get into peak condition:
- New rear tube/tire - Complete tune-up - Rear brake cable - New bar tape (after replacing brake cable) - New chain
Here is a link to bikepedia.com that has more information on this model: http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=2008&Brand=Felt&Model=S32&Type=bike. It looks like Gear West did some customization of this bicycle, so, there are some differences between this bicycle and the one from Felt. However, from my research it looks like they added parts that would only add value to the bike. These added parts include:
As a 2010 Felt S32 rider, I can vouch for the greatness of this bike.
I've had Ol' Blue, my 2006 S32 since it was new and it's survived all but three triathlons I've done in my life. We've been to hell and back together and it's never let me down. Great bike.
