Subject: Moving to La Jolla/San Diego!

Hey all!

Just received exciting news that I was accepted to Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and of course, immediately started looking at my other hobby in the area  

I googled tri groups in the area and found some (maybe outdated?), but was looking for advice on groups, OWS, the best Y's, bike shops, running areas, etc.

Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

Congrats! Sciripps has an amazing program!

The biggest Tri Group in the area is the San Diego Triathlon Club. I am not a member but I know people who are and they LOVE what it has to offer

I am a member of the Mission Valley YMCA. If you are a member with them you can also get into the one at Hazard Center and at Toby Well's. The one in MV has 2 pools and a Master's swimming program with a ton of practice times. They also have an indoor cycling studio, tons of equipment, and a lot of cool classes.

There is a Road Runner Sports store in Kearney Mesa, and my favorite bike shop is in Pt. Loma.

Mission Bay has a good amount of pedestrian paths for running.
