Pre-race routine:

Got there right when transitioned opened to get my favorite spot. Although it never gets crowded here, so you can really show up any time.
Event warmup:

Said hi to Hilde and hung out in the warm pool area waiting to start.
Swim
  • 03m 45s
  • 219 yards
  • 01m 43s / 100 yards
Comments:

I started a little fast and then had to calm back down and catch my breath. No problems with catching up or getting passed, was perfect. This is the first time I have ever been able to get my swim time under a 2 min pace. I know it was only a 200 in the pool, but I was still excited.
Transition 1
  • 01m 16s
Comments:

While waiting to get into the pool, I saw some slip coming out and land on their face. So I went ahead and walk nice and carefully until I was outside.
Bike
  • 21m 23s
  • 7 miles
  • 19.64 mile/hr
Comments:

This started of great and then I turned and hit the wind at mile two. It wasn't horrible, but it certainly slowed me down.
Transition 2
  • 00m 45s
Comments:

I will confess that I took my time in t2 because I was out of breath and my legs were shaky.
Run
  • 17m 42s
  • 2 miles
  • 08m 51s  min/mile
Comments:

I just couldn't get my legs under me and slowed down as things went along. The course is a little short, so it makes the run time look more flattering than it really was! The run was a little disappointing for me.

Event comments:

I enjoy this race because it is nice and small and lets a lot of people end up with medals as a result! There isn't a lot of entertainment or anything. But it is a great little race for the price.

I hit my goal time exactly, so I'm happy. Just wish my legs had felt better on the run. I think I should have backed off the bike just a tad.
