scoobysdad - 2013-04-17 10:05 AM A baby platypus is called a "puggle". It is impossible for a person to tickle himself or herself. Sharks can't get cancer. The radar gun used by police was invented before the interstates were constructed.

... although 6 inches is more commonly found as the biggest ones in a collection)

That's not what she said.

I do find myself in a bit of a dilemma. Every year, when I come home from my dive trip to get shark teeth, my wife asks me if I am done looking for big ones. I have told her I want one that is bigger than 6 inches. Of course, then I have to acknowledge just exactly how big 6 inches is...

One of my co-workers does that. Here's some of his. He divies his up by6" too. ;0

Anybody heard the one about why women can't parallel park?

I just tried this. It's true!

We need video evidence to confirm your findings.

Did you know that San Diego was discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.

Theres no way that's correct. I'll be honest, I don't think anyone knows what it means anymore. Scholars maintain that the translation was lost hundreds of years ago.

San Italian and Spanish masculine word for saint, in geographical names, as in San Francisco

Diego is a Spanish male name derived from the Hebrew Ya?aqobh (Jacob), via the name of Saint James the Greater (Sant Yago), re-analysed as Santiago and San Diego. The assimilation of the final t of Sant into the name is attested in other saints' names, including Spanish and Portuguese Telmo 'Elmo' (< Sant Elmo) and Slovenian Tilen 'Giles' (< Šent Ilen).

The most dangerous animal in the world (responsible for most human deaths) is the mosquito. (I guess this doesn't count our fellow humans as animals.)

Thimpu, Bhutan is supposedly the only capital city in the world without a traffic light. (Personally verified that, and photographed the doggie asleep in the street next to the traffic policeman. My kind of town!)

I would bet it DOES include humans.  Malaria is transmitted by mosquitoes and has killed lots and lots of people, and I imagine it still does in the developing world.

Engineering students from both Purdue and the University of Michigan have designed licking machines in attempts to answer the age old question:  How many licks does it take to reach the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?

Someone bet Dr. Suess he couldn't write a book with just 50 words, so he wrote Green Eggs and Ham.

You can't tell a US quarter minted in 1975 from one minted in 1976.  They both use the bicentennial design that says 1776-1976, with no other year stamped on the coin.
