Subject: Pain at site of healed stress fracture I've had 2 tibial stress fractures in my right leg and one in my left leg. One of the ways I've always been able to tell that I have a stress fracture is that there is a hot spot on the bone when pushing on it in addition to pain when running or walking. However, today I noticed that the site of a healed fracture hurt a bit (feels like a bruise), so I pushed in the area. There's a bit of a hot spot - less pain and bigger area - near the site of each old fracture on both legs. Is this normal? Is it a warning sign to back off before it turns into a fracture? It doesn't hurt when I'm walking or running. I tried the jump test on both legs and didn't have any pain. I'm just worried and would like to avoid going through the stress fracture healing again. |
