This was going to be my vote too! I didn't get it. I didn't try to get it. I wasn't entertained and I wasn't learning anything so I turned it off. |

I can see why someone would like it. But add me to the English Patient list. I could barely sit through it. I thought Titanic was fantastic the first time, but just like Avatar, once you get past all the great effects and over being "wowed" by them, they are not that great of a story. I'm a one and done with Cameran many times. |

Hated it! Slow and boring. For more modern, agree with Dark Knight. I have thankfully never seen Titanic. On the same vein - I sat down one day when 'Gone with the Wind' was on PBS - it was ridiculously long and the story didn't seem to go anywhere! I was so mad - but then maybe I just hadn't done my homework (i didn't read the book) to know the Scarlett doesn't learn anything at all and is a pretty terrible person - but it was the biggest movie of all time before so I thought I would give it a shot. I can't believe I left that one off my list. I bought it for my wife because everyone said it was so great. I wanted to stab myself in the face when it was half way done. |

Cracks me up every time. |

Yawn fest. I haven't seen the Hobbit and have no plans to do so but even my English degree, LOTR-loving spouse said it was boring. I have one of those.....she dragged me to the opener of the 3rd movie back whenever....only I had to sit through the first two in order to get to the third. She got in line about 5 hours before the TEN HOUR ordeal started. When I got there she was standing with a group of guys who were all dressed in character. I sat in my car for a bit contemplating whether I should just drive off and hope one of those guys wooed her away from me. In a moment of weakness I broke down and stood next to her and the rest of those giggly goofs....what followed was 10 hours of hell. I have no idea how anyone can sit through even 15 minutes of any of the LOTR movies. Beer in the theater saved me. Get off my lawn! |

Nathanm74 - 2013-04-22 7:31 PM This thread has a bunch of examples of why there should be a 2 year cooling off period before the Oscars. Something like the Hall of Fame. Excellent idea. If it holds up once it's on DVD for a few months then it can get some awards. Honestly I wouldn't see it until it's on Netflix so this also gives me time to see it before it's nominated. I think a whole other thread should spawn off this titled "Movies FX plays over and over that you can't help but watch". Taken would be at the very top of that list for me. |
