Subject: RE: 16 months, still suck! GAUG3 - 2013-05-02 5:54 AM metafizx - 2013-05-01 2:20 PM wow, 14 pages I know! I'm hoping there is a "in a nutshell" post. 12-13 MPH to 15.3 MPH on same terrain with wind in a period of 3 weeks. 1. I got tired of sucking, and 2. I started believing I was an athlete, and 3. I'm getting better at pacing and RPE, and 4. Getting better at pushing myself. I have learned not to post threads like this right after a race because it doesn't reflect "regular" mood towards things. Just like when I started triathlons I would feel like I never wanted to race again right after each one when the pain set in. CDA should be no problem, with a 2 hour swim and T1 I only need 13.16 MPH. Plan of attack for CDA is to be pedaling at 9a and pedal by heart rate, not push as hard as I can on uphills, recover on downhills (which is what I did during yesterday's ride), which is the plan coach came up with. 150 average heart rate or lower. Seems that will get me by the cutoff with time to spare even with wind (has 12-15 MPH winds during yesterday's ride). The run is no issue, that's my stronger part. I get on that run course, I finish by the cutoff. |
