I am coming from KC to Innsbrook for the 5i50.  I understand that Innsbrook is a closed community and is a bit outside St. Louis.  Where is the best area to stay to for nearby access to the race?

I would say to stay in a hotel Wentzville, MO or in a hotel close to Hwy 70 & the city of Foristell (I'm not sure if there is a hotel in that town). Then, you are only 10 mins away from the race event. It is a closed community and kind of out in the middle of nowhere. But, it's a great race!

Warrenton would be a decent spot too? Small town, maybe cheaper hotels about 10miles from race.

There are a small number of condos right at the race site that you can rent. There are also sometimes private houses on property you can rent if you can find one. I would get in touch with the Innsbrook resort people and ask for some referrals to get something close. Otherwise you might wind up 30-40 minutes away from the race in Warrenton or Wentzville.

What did you decide? I will be leaving KC Thursday after work with the family and staying at my parents Thursday night in Eureka, MO. I will likely get a hotel closer to the Innsbrook for Friday night.

We're (the family and I) are going to leave Friday morning and will probably stay at a hotel in Warrenton. I know things are booking up fast in the area. The Innsbrook condos are full. I look to have something booked today and will let you know what I end up doing.

I'm also trying to decide what to do Sat. night. I think we plan to spend the day in the St. Louis area and maybe Sunday too, so not sure if we want to go back to Warrenton/wentzville area Saturday night, but checking out of a hotel at 11 may prove to be challenging too. : )

I've read that the size of this event is doubling this year...I assume due to the 5150 association. Really looking forward to it.

I would plan on wearing the speed suit, over the past few years I believe the water temp. has always been close to 80 degrees.

After much deliberation with my wife, I optioned to book at the Knights Inn in Wentzville since we're only going to be there less than 12 hours or so. I think it is about the same distance from Warrenton and about half the price. We're just staying one night and it sounds like this motel is at least clean. I'm travelling with my family and plan to do site seeing on Sat. PM and Sunday and will stay somewhere closer to STL on Sat. night.
