Subject: ILSR early morning ride?

Hi all

New to the sight and to road biking. I was wondering if anyone knew if you where allowed ride ILSR before the gates open? I was thinking about parking at the Kensington road park and ride and riding in before any one gets on the roads. Riding in the morning on main roads during the morning commute kinda make me nervous. Thanks for any info.

I've never done it, but check out this thread: Seems like there's a commuter lot nearby and you can just ride in.

You can park at Kensington and ride the path that circles the lake. There is a point, right by the freeway, where you can go under the bridge and come out at Island Lake State Park.

No problems.  You can also park at the east launch and ride the road to the corner to the south east of Kensington.  At the light there is a trail access point into IL.  I've been in there plenty of times early in the morning.  Just make sure you wave and say good morning to the rangers.
