I have both bikes.  I bought a used Roo for 500 bucks about 10 years ago.  I then got a new bike...trek equinox 5 entree level.  i have kept both bikes but have always raced in my trek.  i only average about 20 mph on the trek.  i looked back to when i raced with my roo and was able to hit 21 mph at races.  but .. i am just unsure.  which bike is faster?  the roo is older and would need a good bike check up.  the roo still rides the 650 wheels.  what do you guys think?  which bike am i better off with.  the roo is below

The trek is just a entree level try bike ..it costed only 1500 a few years ago.  help me out.  the roo has a carbon fork and seems quicker?  which would you ride?

well I'd ride the bike that is faster overall as long as you can come off the bike and run faster. You might be slower on the bike but faster on the run now because you are in a better position on the bike that sets up your run. just my opinion though which doesn't mean much lol.

I myself wonder if i am faster on my road bike or my tri bike. I will prolly find out this summer when I make a trip on my road bike to my dads. I've done it twice on my road bike so have a decent indicator of the time it takes.

It could very well be that the QR with the 650c wheels allow you to have a better position, thus making it faster. If you would just measure the aerodynamics of the two bikes, the Trek will have an advantage. Now that being said, the rider accounts for the vast majority of the drag, which is why you can be faster on a less aero bike...

Does the fact that you're a wee bit older now have ANYTHING to do with the slower speeds.  Impossible to say which bike is faster unless everything else is equal.  If you aint riding the 'Roo-sell it.
