Pre-race routine:

up at 4:00 for 1/2 bagel with Peanut butter and one salt tablet. fell back to sleep until 5:00
Event warmup:

1/2 hour before race, took RX'd pre-race fuel.

stuck to the plan. Mile 1 - zone 2. Miles 2-8 zone 3. Miles 9-11 zone 4, then burn out the last 2.1 miles. Last two miles were 8:35 and 8:17.
What would you do differently?:

not a thing! this was the first race I've done where I've had a plan and stuck to it. The results weren't quite what I wanted, but it was a good baseline for upcoming events.

Course: I do like this route. Very scenic. There are definitely rough spots on Simmons island and along Kennedy Park. Fantastic venue for a race!!!
