Nice warmup swim. Water was perfect. It was cold when you got out.

Comments:

Time included the run to the transition area. All paved this year, vs sandy beach of previous years! Small wave so not much opportunity to draft.
Was wetsuit legal, but the water was plenty warm for me without one. Never felt any chill.
What would you do differently?:

Sight less. I swim pretty straight but I hated not seeing it.

Somebody had their bike in my spot, so it took a little longer to rack my bike. Otherwise pretty good.

Did a 4:15 interval, where I walked 10-15 paces each interval. First time I used this method. Really helped me pace evenly.
What would you do differently?:

Run faster!!

Event comments:

Really like the new venue. Swim course was not a problem despite the winds, even thought the gulf had rip tide warnings. Bike felt safer to me. Run course had no sand/beach. Plenty of drinks and nutrition on the run course. Volunteers out there until the end.
Definitely recommend this race.
