on a tri bike?

LBS just put the 2012 Felt B16 on sale for $1400. I had my eye on it but now it seems possible. scared to pull the trigger. how different is it to ride? and is that a good bike for a good price? or will it not matter because I will be dead soon.

Tri bikes are deadly and should come with government warnings! Wink

If you already have decent road bike handling skills, you should be fine.  If you don't...well then you'll learn.  If you want a tri bike, go for it.  While there is a difference in handling and riding in the aerobars, it's not something that's insurmountable.

You'll look and feel like a baby giraffe walking for the first time.....for about 5 minutes. Then it'll be smooth from there.

Practice in a parking lot for a bit, just to get the feel of dropping down into aero, getting out of aero, getting back, turning while in aero, etc.....

I've only got clip on arro bars but I vividly remember the first time I tried to do a farmer blow after putting them on.  Nearly killed my buddy and ate a tree. After a few rides I had going in a strait line down and a few after that felt like I could relax a little.  Hope that somehow relates to a tri bike...

good bike, you will get used to it.  Make sure it fits you before you pull the trigger.  Riding aero is Much different than riding road bars.  If you are fit right, you'll get used to it.  It takes practice.  Enjoy the bike, yours is about 700 bucks cheaper than mine

you'll sort it out in 20miles and it will feel like any other bike.

remember- you can always ride it up on the bullhorns.

killer deal on the B16.  nab it (if you're in need of a great race bike for cheap)
