ok, so I go to my local tri shop and of course they do not have the 400's in stock but they did have the bibs, and the pad seems great.

So I came back to my office and just before I ordered them on trisports I found them at swim outlet for 107!!!!!!  1-2 day free delivery and ) tax (for now)

so I just decided to pull the trigger...for that price I figured they cant be any worse than what I have

wannabefaster - 2013-05-13 10:10 AM Not just the Forzas, the Forza Rivieras. They are different shorts. The Forzas just have a little piece of fleece in them and aren't that great (IMO) but the Rivieras have the DeSoto float pad which is made out of the same material as the 400 mile pad.
I cant find these on the desoto site.  I can find Forzas or Riverias but not Forza Riverias...

They have changed the nomnclature since the last time I bought a pair. Used to be Forza Rivieras. They now are just Rivieras.

Wore the desoto 400 for my IM bike and loved them.

(I changed into a running skirt for the run so I can't speak to running in them)

Great to hear! Always wanting to improve De Soto Femme, do you always wear a run skirt on the run?

I've done a handful of HIMs, couple IMs and I really enjoy century rides.

On my tri bike I tried pretty much everything and ended up using exclusively Orca 226 shorts for all the tris.

Going into a 200 mile, one day ride, I wanted to find out what all the hoopla was about bib shorts. Got a pair of 400 mile bibs. I honestly didn't see much difference between those and the Orca tri shorts.

FFWD to this year when I'm doing a lot of road bike stuff. HOLY COW there's a difference. I've tried Specialized bike shorts (top end and second from top end), 2XU bib shorts and broke out my 400 mile bib shorts again.

After starting in on 2+ hour rides on my road bike, I just received my third pair of 400 mile bib shorts.

If I start in on 2 hour rides 4-5 days a week, I'll pick up another pair or two.

If I get back into long rides on the tri bike, I'll switch back to the Orca 226 shorts.

I have the 400s and they are probably my favorite shorts. I wear them for anyting over 30 miles. I have used them for HIMs and one IM where I didn't bother to change into running shorts. I will change into running shorts next time. I picked up some Hincapie kits over Christmas and the shorts are really comfortable. I have used them on a couple of long rides and they are fine. i have not used them on a long course tri so I can't comment yet but on short course they have been great.

My DeSoto 400 mile bibs are by far my favorites for any longer rides (or shorter for that matter, but the longer the ride, the more I notice how incredible they are!).

I'm a medium in pretty much everything so that's what I bought in the 400 milers as well. At first, I was seriously thinking about returning them for a size large, but I gave them a try and really glad I did! First time you put them on, you'll think you bought them too small, but somehow after a few minutes you can't even tell they're there, they're that comfortable!

I'm only running now (no tris) but I often wear running skirts. I like the feel of compression shorts but feel a little "naked" in them. Running skirts give me the feel of compression shorts with a little more coverage. Let me know if De Soto makes a running skirt --- love your products !

Guess what ... we are! Well, sort of. New in 2014, we are offering a button on sarong (skirt) that simply snaps on to your tri short, for those who feel "naked" or simply want something post-race or on the run or bike. What size do you wear?
