Subject: trail running shoes, but not running on trails

This  may be a stupid question, but can you use trail running shoes, if you are not running on a trail.  I ordered some Brooks Adrenaline (my favorite shoe) and didn't notice that they were the asr (trail) not the gts (road).  The tread is quite different, not as smooth. I run on the streets and occasionally on packed dirt.

Thanks.

I think it is a personal preference. From what I understand (probably wrong), but trail shoes have a stronger/heavy/ bulkier sold than road shoes. I personally have the Brooks Burn, Cascadia's, and the T4 Racer. I used the Cascadia's last week on an 11 mile road run, and I didn't have any issues (as far as knee pains or anything like that). It is all a matter of personaly preference though.
