Front derailluer wasn't working correctly. I adjusted on the fly and worked around the issue to make sure it wouldn't affect my performance. Announcer at T2 startled me as I was trying to dismount and I ended up dumping at the dismount line. :(

Comments:

Vista del Lago still sucks :P I was able to speed walk up most of it but wasn't able to run the hill. Other than that I paced it well I think.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

I thought I executed this race perfectly considering I had barely run in the last two months.

Event comments:

It's a challenging course and a whole ton of fun. Wish they'd lose the ugly shirts and posters. Always a very tough and competitive field.

After a hard workout, I really like having a Coke or Pepsi. How bad is this for recovery and for my health? Should I stop drinking orange juice because it is loaded with (fattening) carbs and sugar?

The toll of fate strikes as those with orange swim caps are beckoned to begin the journey. Ahhh, nothing like the feel of ice cold water seeping in your wetsuit to wake you up. GO!

Knowing where the fluids are, how they will fit on your bike, how much to reach for, and when to reach for it should be understood prior to ever setting foot on the course.
