Quick question...Wondering if you guys leave your carbon brake pads on when you change back to your training wheels. Have not tried them yet, but guessing they don't stop as well...

Yes, they won't brake as well, but that it not the reason why you need to change brake pads. Aluminum brake surfaces deposit small chars of metal in the brake pads, if you then use the same brake pads on your carbon brake surface, you will destroy that brake surface quite quickly. You really need to have dedicated pads for your carbon rims and another set of pads for you training wheels. It take about 5 minutes to swap all of them over, so time well spent compared to ruining your race wheels.

Was guessing that could happen too...residual metal left on the pads could work like sandpaper...good call!

Just had to change mine out the other day for a race. Will be making a stop at the LBS to get new holders for my pads as well. On the Trek Speed Concepts the rear one on mine the pads slide in and out of a holder after taking out a screw. Pain in the but. I am just going to buy 2 extra sets of pad holders and make changing a lot quicker/easier on myself.

I was humbled last year. My body shut down on me just before two World Championship events. I was originally in top form to medal in both, but my strength was sapped from me.
