I have had two Yakima High Rollers on my 2009 Matrix since the day I brought it home. The racks have seen use at least once a week since 2009 and they still perform well. They are a bit weathered but are as functionally sound as when they were new.

The high rollers accomodate my P2C, my road bike, or mountain bike equally well.

The mount system saved my bike a couple of months ago so I owe it some proper respect.

I had put my P2 on the rack and went to help a friend move prior to my ride. When I left their house and got on the highway I sensed, more than felt, something was wrong. I glanced in my side mirror and saw the rear wheel of my bike over the rear door window of the car. I had forgotten to fasten the strap over the rear wheel and it blew off at highway speed. FORTUNATELY for me the front wheel capture system of the highroller held securely enough that the bike did not come off the car. I stopped and put it aright.

When the time comes to get another rack, if it's a roof rack, I will get a Yakima High Roller.

I have a P2. I just got a sea sucker roof rack. Works great. A few people on slowtwitch suggested it....

If you are both forgetful AND park in a garage, DO NOT buy one of these! :-)

I just added a Thule Echelon to the roof of my Explorer. I have a Thule T2 hitch rack as well. I thought I'd like fork mount for the roof - just felt more stable. The Thule Sidearm style looks just like my hitch rack and that works great - just wasn't sure I wanted the bike full upright on the roof.

Whenever I put my bike on the roof of my car, I remove the opener from the car.

Good point. My Explorer has an integrated garage door opener on the visor, so I pull a trashcan or something large in the bay where I park so I have to get out of the vehicle to move the trashcan before pulling in.
